As part of its ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability, Gulf Carton Factory has unveiled an impressive 6-meter-tall palm tree crafted entirely from recyclable corrugated cardboard. The installation demonstrates how sustainable materials can be transformed into remarkable engineering and artistic creations while promoting environmental awareness and responsible manufacturing.
The cardboard palm tree was showcased at the company's booth during the PPPP 2026 – Printing, Packaging, Plastics and Petrochemicals Exhibition in Riyadh, where it attracted significant attention from visitors and industry professionals. Its unique design, meticulous craftsmanship, and sustainability-focused message made it one of the exhibition's standout attractions.
The palm tree was intentionally chosen as it represents one of Saudi Arabia's most iconic cultural symbols and reflects the identity of Al-Ahsa, the birthplace of Gulf Carton Factory and home to the world's largest natural palm oasis. By recreating this national symbol using recyclable corrugated cardboard, the project highlights the potential of sustainable materials while celebrating the Kingdom's rich heritage.
This initiative reflects Gulf Carton Factory's vision of developing innovative and environmentally responsible solutions that extend beyond conventional packaging applications. It showcases the versatility, strength, and creative potential of corrugated cardboard while reinforcing the company's commitment to sustainability and circular economy principles.
Through projects such as this, Gulf Carton Factory continues to promote environmental responsibility, inspire creative thinking, and demonstrate how innovation and sustainability can work together to shape a more sustainable future for the packaging industry and beyond.
